We live in a visual age in which images have become the central medium for representing and communicating ideas. As savvy internet users, students are accustomed to consuming information in many textual and visual forms. Using images in the classroom helps engage students who have grown up in this media-rich environment. This session will explore strategies, resources, and online tools—including memes, infographics, comics, sketchnotes, emojis, and GIFs—to support learning and help students become powerful visual communicators.
