Emily Bertrand is a kindergarten teacher in Bourbonnais School District 53. She has 13 years of teaching experience. She has a passion in teaching technology and graduated with her Masters in Early Childhood with a STEM concentration from Erikson Institute in Chicago. She is a proud recipient of my Kankakee County’s 2020, 40 under 40 award. Her other interests include social emotional learning and play based approaches. She believes in bringing magic into the classroom by making learning fun and engaging. When she is not teaching, she is a busy mom of two boys. She enjoys Disney vacations, dining out, reading, binge watching TV series, and being outdoors.
